SECRETS in the New Year – 2007
SECRETS – THE UNTOLD STORY OF SIGMUND FREUD AND CARL JUNG is now in an incubation period, ending 2006 and entering 2007. Many seeds have been planted in the fall of 2006 for the original drama with music intervals, and now it is time to wait creatively to allow the seeds to germinate, root and blossom in the new year of 2007.
There have been on-going discussions and negotiations for a production on Broadway, with regional theatres in the USA, in Israel and in Europe where there seems to be active interest in the personal lives and feelings of these innovative masterminds, Freud and Jung.
2007 is the 100th anniversary of the first meeting between the two giants in Vienna, a meeting that lasted thirteen hours and set in motion a series of letters, books conferences and events which were to impact the entire course of psychology, philosophy, music, art and literature in the 20th century.
I am going back to the retreat center in the mountains of Mexico where the first draft of the play was written in October of 2005. I am going to be working on ways to make the script even better, tighter, deeper and more theatrical while soaking in the mineral waters and taking a few yoga classes a day.
The visual picture of what the production will look like is becoming clearer and more dynamic all the time. By the laws of mind and visualization, the clearer the stage picture becomes, the more like it is to manifest in physical reality.
I would like to thank all those who have participated in the creative process to this point –actors and actresses, friends and family who have read the different versions of the script, interested associates and colleagues who have seen the reading in the various locations around New York City. Contrary to popular belief, a script is not written alone in a room, wrapped in a protective cocoon. The creative process is more dynamic and interactive than that, which brings me into imaginative contact with many other creative people.
Please stay tuned, and let me know if you are interested in participating in the project in some way. We are still at the ground floor level, and I am open to receive new ideas, input and assistance from anyone who is willing to contribute.
Thank you for your consideration and attention. The best is yet to come.
Wishing you a healthy, creative and prosperous 2007.
Best regards,
Ken Wydro
